Teleperformance received the Outstanding Community Project of the Year from the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) during its 18th Anniversary and Investors’ Recognition Night held on April 18 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
The award was presented by Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Gregory Domingo to David Rizzo, Teleperformance Asia Pacific President, who accepted the award on behalf of the company.
The PEZA Outstanding Community Project of the Year Award honors organizations that exemplify best practices through their corporate social responsibility initiatives. Teleperformance was recognized for its important role in advancing the welfare of many underprivileged sectors in Philippine society, as well as protecting the environment through rehabilitation and awareness programs.
David Rizzo said, “We are deeply honored to have been recognized by PEZA for our contribution to the community. This award is a commendation to our Teleperformance employee volunteers, who have selflessly devoted their time, talent, and even a portion of their income so they can help uplift the spirits of the less-fortunate and aid in building a better environment for them.”
Brian Johnson, Teleperformance Philippines Managing Director, noted, “The Outstanding Community Project of the Year Award is a true honor to our heroes – the men and women of Teleperformance who have brought inspiration and hope to the community. We are greatly inspired by this award and aim to keep giving and caring for our community and the environment.”
Since 2006, Teleperformance has engaged the strong support and participation of our employees in humanitarian and advocacy programs through our corporate social responsibility arm, Citizen of the World (COTW) and Citizen of the Planet (COTP, with primary focus on helping children, the elderly and those affected by natural disasters. Through our employees’ generous support, Teleperformance has successfully sustained our assistance to our partner beneficiaries including the Teleperfomance Village in Tanay, Rizal, Philippine Blood Center, Philippine Red Cross, National Children’s Hospital, Kythe Foundation, White Cross Orphanage, Bantug Day Care Center, and Mary Mother of Mercy Home for the Elderly and Abandoned. Teleperformance is likewise involved in environmental protection and awareness campaigns, having initiated tree-planting activities in Rizal and Bacolod, and supporting the rehabilitation of the La Mesa Ecopark in Quezon City.
In 2012, more than 13,000 hours were devoted by employee volunteers working with our partner institutions.
